Day 45. Salmon Gums to Esperance

Martha Stewart on the road...

Rain! This morning we woke up to drizzling rain, and this afternoon not much had changed. Even now, its blowing a gale, and its still raining!

Due to the weather, there wasn't much to do at our free camp this morning, so we had cereal for breakfast before packing up and hitting the road. We were only about 130kms from Esperance, so it was a leisurely drive south in the continuing drizzle.

First up, we stopped at the local Information Centre to find out from the locals what's on in town over the next week or so, and to find out what Esperance has to offer.

We found the Top Tourist Esperance Seafront Caravan Park in no time at all, however the set up was a little hit and miss, as the wind was blowing at 30knots plus! Even now it has picked up and is shaking the van too and fro!

The weather is very messy at the moment, and its made the day very awkward for all; especially for Scarlett as she has not been able to venture far outdoors today. We braved the weather for a short time this afternoon and went for a walk around the park to see what is actually here, but that is all we dared do.

Scarlett has been a great little trooper; doing lots of craft in cramped conditions, and watching TV indoors. She has all this energy and its not easy when your not able to go outdoors.

Bec on the other hand has been doing her "Martha Stewart" impersonation today, and is still cooking up a storm! After a great Chicken Curry dinner, she surprised both Scarlett and me by getting back in the kitchen to make a Date Loaf for dessert! Mmmm... My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Hopefully the weather improves a little tomorrow (as the forecast is more of the same for the next three days). If not, we might have to investigate further to see what is available indoors...
