Day 44. Kalgoorlie to Salmon Gums

Good bye 'Super Pit'

Very lazy start today. We cooked pancakes for breakfast and talked to our neighbours about all the good places to see at Esperance, as they had just come up from there. We then called into town to grab some last minute fruit and veg before hitting the road. We had only gone half an hour when Scarlett said she needed to go to the toilet, so we decided to stop for lunch and give her a quick break.

Scarlett and I slept for the next hour and a half, while poor Shane drove on without any company. Truth be told he probably enjoyed the quite... When we both awoke we were only 25km's from our free camp, we travelled 270km's today. The camp was a good size, and we were able to get fairly far back from the road. There was only one other caravan here, and they were so far away we couldn't see them through the trees anyway.

Scarlett set about cleaning her rocks, and checking the gold was all still in them. I bought her a new toothbrush to use for her rocks, so she was brushing and cleaning away for ages. Shane managed to get the new satellite TV system up and running for the first time, it's so great; crystal clear pictures and about 80 channels.

It was a quiet afternoon with not much to report, I talked to a guy who pulled in to give his dog a stretch, and cooking Bami Goreng for dinner. Scarlett has just gone to bed, and I think I might kick back now and surf the new 80 channels.

Scarlett "Rose Quartz" that she bought at the Mining Hall of Fame, and her new toothbrush!
