Day 285. Hervey Bay

A Botanical wonderland....

We woke to another wonderful tropical day in Hervey Bay. The night air is cool and crisp; allowing us to finally get a good nights sleep, (Not to mention the new body pillow I recently bought for Bec).

We had an easy day planned today, so after a morning session of schoolwork with Scarlett, we took off into town to do some window shopping (looking at furnishing ideas for when we finally move into a new house next year). It was then off to the local Botanical Gardens for some well earned 'us time', where we basically just walked around the park lands talking and enjoying the scenery. It was very soothing spending some time together as a family without any outside influences. No TV, no music, no touring, no shopping, no playgrounds, and no computer! It really was some priceless time together.

There was a beautiful lake and a number of water features within the garden; that Scarlett found very intriguing as she watched the birds and turtles. Bec and I just sat back on a bench seat outside the Orchid House, and watched her play and explore.

Afterwards, we returned to the caravan park where we relaxed the rest of the day away. I put up the bush swing for Scarlett to play on next to the caravan, and Bec did more craft with Scarlett. We also went for a swim and play in the pool here at the caravan park, and enjoyed the best 'Pie with mushy Peas and a side of mash with gravy' for dinner outside under the awning. Mmmm.....
